so What exactly is CIF?
The Condition Improvement Fund is an annual bidding round for academies and sixth-form colleges to apply for capital funding. The main function of the fund is to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building condition. Successful projects are those that are able to demonstrate the urgency of the project whilst aligning with the priorities as set by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA).
Over the last 6 bid rounds the Garland Company have enjoyed a market leading success rate for over 550 successful bids! In the 2017/18 bid round the EFSA awarded 388 roofing projects to which The Garland Company were responsible for 135 of those successful bids.
Garland have been awarded 35% of all completed CIF roofing projects.
Due to the anticipated demand for the CIF fund, only applications which closely align with the CIF policy priorities are expected to be successful. For 2018/19 the EFA have outlined following areas for consideration:
- Compliance and Health and Safety including
- Significant building condition
- Energy efficiency
